IBIS Advisors Co., a human resources consulting company that has been providing services around the globe for 40 years, recently opened a new Washington, DC office at 888 16th St NW. The firm, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, has multiples offices in the US, and affiliates in over 90 countries. Nicholas Dobelbower, vice president of Research & Publications, relocated from LA to DC last year to open the firm's newest office.
Upon arriving in DC, Dobelbower began looking for office solutions on the Internet and through word-of-mouth—which led to him finding DC Executive Space. Unsure of whether or not the firm would grow its DC operations from its initial two staff members, Dobelbower was hesitant on entering into a lengthy direct lease. Although he researched both traditional and executive space locations, after speaking with Svet Voloshin, DC Executive Space Managing Partner, the choice became clear that executive space was the most logical office model, allowing the flexibility to expand the office size as needed. Although at first Dobelbower was a little hesitant to try out a non-traditional office solution, he now believes this model has given him access to services he would otherwise not have, including reception, common space and the flexibility to expand. “In the end, we are getting a great value for what we pay,” he said.
Before Dobelbower could open up the IBIS DC office, finding the right space was just one task on a long to-do list. Having someone local who knew the area made the task less of a burden. “The search for office space was a very friendly, comfortable process,” Dobelbower said of working with DC Executive Space. “I felt Svet was very concerned with finding us what we wanted and tried to find the best options to fit our specific needs.” Dobelbower also said he appreciated the convenience of having Voloshin coordinate appointments to tour different office locations. Having DC Executive Space handle all negotiations on the service agreement was beneficial because he lacked experience with this type of transaction. “DC Executive Space was wonderful in handling the lease negotiations and advocating for us. I really felt they were looking out for our best interests and really got us the best deal possible,” said Dobelbower. “Voloshin represented our interests well. We got a very good rate and found a very good location."
IBIS initially signed on for three months at their DC executive space location, however they recently renewed the contract through the remainder of 2010.
